Help us reuse your bottle caps to help cut down on waste
La Gritona strives to give our customers a responsible package when we make our tequila. Our bottles are made from recycled glass, and can be reused or recycled when empty. The caps are intended to be reused with the bottle, but in the event that you recycle the bottle, La Gritona will take them back for reuse.

We collect the caps from customers in the U.S. and then transport them back to Mexico to be sterilized and fit onto new bottles with new grommets. To make this process simple, energy efficient, and cost effective, we ask that you mail us TEN caps or more at a time via USPS only.
We refund your postage costs via Paypal or personal check. Please include a note in your package as to which method you would prefer so we can reimburse you. Please make sure the postage paid is visible on the package or on the note inside so that we know how much to reimburse you.
MAIL YOUR CAPS TO:
La Gritona Tequila
2658 Griffith Park Blvd. #196
Los Angeles, CA 90039
PLEASE NOTE:
- If you want to send less than ten caps, please do so at your own expense, but we cannot reimburse customers for any amount smaller than ten. One cap weighs .84 OZ, so it should be safe to send one in an envelope with one stamp.
- If you happen to have a very large number of caps, we suggest using Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes which can accommodate a relatively large number of caps for a reasonable shipping price.
- We are currently only accepting caps from the U.S. If you are in Canada and want to send then back at your own expense, we salute you. We ask that overseas customers refrain from sending them back, as the energy spent moving them so far does not offset the energy saved in reusing them. Hopefully someday!
You can also bring your caps to one of our close friends around the U.S. in person
